Aussie Beer Ad- Love Bomb
September 7th 2006 22:11
Another week, another beer ad. Or should i say two.
If you want an unofficial indicator of an Australian beer ads success then you probably cant go past it being picked up by the Americans and shown during the gridiron Superbowl. Advertising costs during the half time show run in the bazzilion-dollars-a-second category (mostly because that's the most interesting part of the game. That's no joke, the half time ads rate higher than the actual game) so they dont muck around with ordinary ads. The fact that we got, not one, but two ads screened just makes me feel patriotic all over.
And who wouldn't want to see these ads? Again, they're a great example of an updated Australian character which is urbanised and relevant, yet still embodying our unique sense of humour and outlook on the world. In the face of upper class pretentious-ness an ordinary bloke just does what he wants to do, busting out the way we all wish we could.
And you have to respect that.
The original Hahn Premium Light ad (Love Bomb) was the one screened at the Superbowl (one at the top of the page). Next beer ad blog I'll show you all the other ad that was screened, which could surprise a few people. Finally, just to prove I wasn't lieing about the whole Superbowl thing I've got a link to a newspaper article below.
Newspaper Article.
