We all knew this was a great ad. The world knew this was a great ad. Even the world's advertising agencies knew this was a great ad.
Ladies and Gentlemen, you're looking at the second best ad in the world for 2006.
What can I say about The Big Ad? For starters, it indulges in that most Australian of pastimes, taking the piss. Whether it's taking the piss out of ourselves, or someone/thing else, it's something we're good at and it's about time we got international recognition for it. Secondly, this ad has moved a truck load of beer. Carlton Draught has apparently increased it's market share by a bazzilion percent which has lead Fosters (the company that owns Carlton Draught) to move all it's advertising from TV to the net in the US. And it's all off the back of some blokes going all 'Lord of the Rings' for their favourite beer.
